Welcome to the website of
Colchester Area Community Church
Colchester
is Britain's oldest recorded town, an important military town
and the home of Essex University with students from over a hundred
nations. As a historical centre Colchester has a varied spiritual
history, including pagan worship and sadly much bloodshed but
today there is a desire amongst many church leaders to see Jesus
truly exalted where once pagan deities were worshipped.
Along with other churches in the town and area, our desire is
for God to visit the Colchester area in our day - for thousands
to receive Jesus as their Saviour and Lord and for whole communities
to be transformed by the power and presence of God's Spirit.
History tells us that revival visitations of God are birthed
in prayer and often seem to be where the blood of martyrs has
been shed and so we continue to pray: "Come Lord Jesus"
in the knowledge that many have given their lives sacrificially
for their faith in this historic town. We press on 'running
the race which is marked out for us' inspired by the example
of the great company of witnesses who have gone before us.
Our eyes and hope is fixed on Jesus, our Saviour and Lord.
King Jesus is the focus of our corporate worship and our aim
is for Him to also be the centre of our shared lives which is
facilitated by our cell structure of small groups.
We
are a charismatic evangelical church enjoying good relationships
with other churches in the Colchester area. We are supportive
of the inter-church initiative 'Seeking God's Blessing for Colchester'
which is chaired by the Bishop of Colchester.
We
are members of the Evangelical
Alliance and are part of the Plumbline
family of churches with related churches in this country and
overseas. The church is registered in the UK as a charitable
trust.
If
you are in search of a church in the Colchester area to make
your 'spiritual home' then we warmly invite you to come along
to a Sunday meeting or to get in touch with our church
office for a chat. If you are planning to visit the Colchester
area then you too are welcome to attend our Sunday meetings
and other appropriate activities outlined on our site.
If however, you are simply browsing out of a general interest
- whether that is from nearby or far away - then we wish you
God's blessing upon your life.
We are mindful that you may be visiting our site because of
an interest in exploring the Christian
faith and so we have included a section specifically for
you which we do hope you will find helpful.
Whatever your enquiry or interest, if our site does not cover
your specific need or question then please do not hesitate to
