CaCC in the community
We
believe that Church is more than just meetings, it's all about
people. People who are involved in spreading the good news about
Jesus Christ and advancing His Kingdom wherever they go.
People who are part of CaCC are actively encouraged
to get involved in their immediate local community or the wider
Colchester community through voluntary work or as part of their
paid employment.
Some work in the health care profession, in education
and business whilst others serve voluntarily as school governors
or via the various community projects within the Colchester
area.
As a church we also support financially deserving
local community projects, including St Helena Hospice, Beacon
House for the homeless and Christian
Youth Outreach (CYO).
In
recent years as a church we have sought to serve the Hythe regeneration
area of East Colchester, working alongside other community organisations
and initiatives. In February 2005 we moved our church
office to larger premises at the Hythe which has enabled
us to set-up a small church centre from which we are seeking
to increase our involvement in this expanding community.
The Hythe Toddler Group
This
is run by the church for the local Hythe community and meets
on a Tuesday morning from 0945-1145 at the Hythe Community Centre.
People from all backgrounds, cultures and ethnic groups are
welcome and it is a safe place where children can play with
others and parents/carers can make new friends in a loving and
caring environment.

K2
In
January 2007, at the request of the manager of the Hythe Community
Centre the church (in 'partnership' with the Hythe Community
Centre) launched the weekly K2 children's club for children,
in schools years 3 to 6.
It operates during term time, on a Wednesday evening,
1730-1900 from the Hythe Community Centre and is open
to all children living in the Hythe community and surrounding
area, regardless of culture, religion or ethnic background.
It's proving to be a great fun place for children to make new
friends in a safe environment as well as exploring together
different aspects of life.
KUBE
The
KUBE youth project is an initiative set up and run by the youth
of the church specifically for the young people of the Hythe
community and surrounding area.
It operates on a Sunday evening, 1900-2100, from the Hythe
Community Centre. KUBE seeks to be a fun, interesting and safe
environment where young people can spend time together and learn
more about Jesus and what it means to be a Christian.

Soup Run
Along with a number of other churches from the Colchester area
we are involved with the nightly provision of soup and food
for the homeless in the town centre.
